She leads Daniel Noboa, who is seeking re-election, by at least 3 percentage points.
Less than two weeks before approximately 13.7 million Ecuadorians head to the polls on April 13 to elect their president, Luisa Gonzalez, the candidate for the leftist Citizen Revolution (RC) party, continues to lead in voter intention polls.

A survey conducted by the firm Negocios y Estrategias shows that she has secured 51.5 percent of voter preferences. This result places her three points ahead of her rival, right-wing President Daniel Noboa, who has 48.6 percent support.
The poll, which surveyed 3,000 people nationwide, was conducted after Gonzalez and Noboa participated in a televised debate in which the Ecuadorian president admitted that he would not collect the debt owed to the state in unpaid taxes by companies owned by his family.
The Negocios y Estrategias survey also reflects significant support for the RC candidate, who recently signed an agreement with the Indigenous movement Pachakutik, the third-largest political force in the country.
In the first round of elections, both candidates obtained very close results: Noboa secured 44.17 percent of the votes, while Gonzalez received 43.97 percent, with a difference of just 19,756 votes. This context has intensified the campaigns of both contenders, who have until April 10 to persuade undecided voters.
While Gonzalez is touring the central Andean region, Noboa is facing criticism for not having requested a leave of absence from Congress to carry out his electoral campaign. Instead of following the expected political-administrative procedure, he delegated the presidency by decree to Cynthia Yelliver.
The political controversy has also been fueled by a recent trip Noboa took to Miami, the purpose and financing of which remain unknown. However, the right-wing politician posted a photo on social media in which he appears alongside his wife and U.S. President Donald Trump.
