Regarding the upcoming elections, she emphasized the importance of forming a coalition of left-wing parties.
On Monday, Luisa Gonzalez, the presidential candidate of Citizen Revolution (RC) and finalist in the second round of the presidential runoff, denounced irregularities in the elections.

During a television interview, she confirmed that her team had encountered obstacles in supervising each polling station and in the delivery of records, which has affected the transparency of the results. Gonzalez stated that her party would be in first place if there had been no inconsistencies in the data presented by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The leftist politician expressed distrust toward electoral authorities and accused CNE President Diana Atamaint of acting with bias in favor of incumbent President Daniel Noboa, who will seek re-election in the second round scheduled for April.
“This has been a battle of David against Goliath,” said Gonzalez, referring to a difficult electoral campaign due to the collusion between business elites and dominant media outlets to favor the right-wing candidate.
Gonzalez criticized the results of the exit polls commissioned by Noboa, according to which he was projected to win the elections in a single round. She also accused Noboa of using public funds to finance his political campaign, which is a violation of electoral regulations.
For this reason, the Citizen Revolution candidate demanded that Noboa hand over the presidency to Vice President Veronica Abad so they could compete under equal conditions in the second round.
Regarding the upcoming elections, Gonzalez emphasized the importance of forming a coalition of left-wing parties, bringing together environmental movements and the Pachakutik party, whose Indigenous leader, Leonidas Iza, secured 5.26% of the votes.
“We must bring the positions of different political tendencies to the dialogue table,” Gonzalez said, expressing her willingness to develop a joint roadmap with other parties to challenge the Ecuadorian right. “What unites us is greater than what divides us,” the Citizen Revolution candidate said, highlighting the need to build an inclusive national project.
With 92% of valid ballots counted as of Monday, the CNE reported that the votes from Sunday’s elections were distributed as follows: Daniel Noboa (44.31%), Luisa Gonzalez (43.83%), Leonidas Iza (5.26%), Andrea Gonzalez (2.71%), and the remaining candidates (3.89%).
