On Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the transfer of power to the incoming administration in the United States is proceeding effectively. This affirmation came after President-elect Donald Trump accused the outgoing administration of obstructing the process.

“Joe Biden is an institutionalist president; he believes in our democracy, believes in doing what is right for the country and the American people, and believes in a peaceful transfer of power. The president’s mandate is to ensure we facilitate an efficient transition to the incoming administration,” Jean-Pierre said during a press briefing.
Her comments followed Congress’s official declaration of Trump as the 47th president-elect of the country. Shortly before this announcement, Trump accused Biden of complicating the power transfer process ahead of his inauguration on January 20.
“Biden is doing everything possible to make the TRANSITION as difficult as possible, from a legal war like never seen before to costly and ridiculous executive orders on the New Green Deal and other scams that waste money,” Trump wrote on his communication platform, Truth Social.
The former president (2017-2021) referred to various legal challenges he faces, including a hush-money case for which he is set to be sentenced next Friday, as well as climate legislation pushed by the Biden administration.
“Don’t worry, these ‘orders’ will be ended shortly, and we will become a nation of common sense and strength. MAGA!” Trump concluded with his slogan “Make America Great Again.”
After acknowledging his defeat in last November’s presidential election, Biden committed to ensuring a peaceful transition of power to the incoming administration in accordance with the U.S. Constitution.
