Electoral Council of Venezuela Extends Election Drill Until 19h00

The electoral simulation will be extended until 19H00 local hours this Sunday to ensure the participation of citizens in the day, announced the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso.

Likewise, Amoroso indicated that if there is an influx of people in the process, they could announce a new extension through the media.

“By virtue of this influx in all the electoral centers, all the rectors, we decided to extend this day. If there are centers, after this extension that have people who want to exercise their right, will be extended in that center and we will let you know,” he said.

Likewise, the head of the Venezuelan electoral portfolio congratulated the people who “have so far made an extraordinary civic day, giving example, again deepening democracy.”

Previously, in the morning hours of this Sunday, the principal rector reported that all the electoral material, CNE personnel and the total of machines enabled for the drill this Sunday, are 100% installed.

“We are monitoring everything of this historic simulation that we are going to do today,” Amoroso said, noting that the simulation is accompanied by observers from the United Nations, the Carter Center, and electoral institutions such as El Salvador. He also stated that the observers will be deployed throughout the national territory.

“100% assistance from the CNE technical staff at a national level, 100% of the machines installed in all the electoral centers,” Amoroso said, noting that this day is a historic day that strengthens Venezuelan democracy.

“All to participate. There are 174 voting centers for this simulation so that all the people of Venezuela, in any region, in any town can familiarize themselves with these machines that are the best in the world,” said the head of the electoral body.

It should be noted that for this day 3,006 polling stations are distributed nationwide.

Venezuela began at 8H00 (12H00 GMT) this Sunday to a mock in the face of the presidential elections on July 28, to which 21,620,705 citizens are called to vote, to elect who they want to be the country’s president for the next six years.
