The ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon has escalated dramatically, leading to significant humanitarian crises and widespread devastation. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since October 2023, at least 3,645 individuals have been killed and 15,355 injured due to the intensified Israeli military operations across Lebanon.

This violence has not only affected combatants but has also resulted in substantial civilian casualties, as Israeli airstrikes have targeted densely populated areas in cities such as Beirut and southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military has broadened its operations, claiming to target Hezbollah but effectively engaging with the entire Lebanese population. This includes airstrikes that have devastated infrastructure and led to mass displacements. Reports indicate that over 800,000 people have been displaced within Lebanon due to these operations.

Humanitarian organizations have warned that without immediate international intervention for a ceasefire, Lebanon could face a humanitarian disaster comparable to that currently unfolding in Gaza.

International organizations and humanitarian agencies are increasingly vocal about the need for a ceasefire. They emphasize that the current Israeli operations constitute a “war of aggression” against not just Hezbollah but the entire Lebanese population.

There are calls for accountability regarding the actions of Israeli forces and for urgent humanitarian access to affected areas.
