A group of 30 members of the European Parliament has demanded in Brussels the immediate end of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

In a recent meeting, these Europarliamentarians called for the lifting of the blockade and for Cuba’s removal from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. The representatives expressed their solidarity with the Cuban people, who are currently facing severe difficulties due to energy problems and the consequences of Hurricane Oscar.

The lawmakers emphasized that the blockade not only suffocates the Cuban economy but also limits access to essential resources needed to develop sustainable energy infrastructure.

Furthermore, they denounced that Cuba’s inclusion on the list of state sponsors of terrorism complicates its situation even further, hindering financial flows and international cooperation.
