On Tuesday night, the asphalt plant in the central province of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, was the scene of an explosion that left a worker seriously injured.
According to a report from the local newspaper Escambray, the fire broke out in one of the three tanks that store a liquid known as RC, which is essential in the manufacture of asphalt.
The man, Alexey Díaz Salas, 48, was rushed to the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital, where his health condition has been classified as critical.
