Since 2018, the ‘Return to the Homeland’ plan has brought back over 913,000 Venezuelans from various countries.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello denounced that the far right carried out a years-long campaign to induce the migration of the Venezuelan people.

This maneuver was carried out by the extremist opposition with the aim of using the migration crisis for political purposes, asserted Cabello, who is also the secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

He emphasized that the “Return to the Homeland” plan is an initiative by President Nicolas Maduro to allow those who were victims of the far right to return.

Through this initiative, a first group of 190 Venezuelan migrants from Texas, United States, arrived in Venezuela on Monday on two planes from the national airline Conviasa.

“The Venezuelans were victims of a large, perverse media campaign, financed and executed by the fascists. When the actions of USAID are thoroughly investigated, the money used for that campaign will be found,” Cabello said.

“Since 2018, the ‘Return to the Homeland’ plan has brought back over 913,000 Venezuelans from various countries… The Bolivarian Government always looks out for the well-being of Venezuelans,” the Interior Minister recalled.

“To the migrants, we say: return, for here they will find a free and peaceful homeland. We welcomed those young people who arrived in Venezuela with respect,” Cabello said.
