‘Social media should be spaces for reflection and revolutionary guidance, not platforms for fascist manipulation,’ he stressed.

On Tuesday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro denounced that far-right politician Maria Corina Machado is financing a social media campaign aimed at linking the return of Venezuelan migrants to a rise in crime.

“There is a public campaign on TikTok, financed by the fascist Maria Corina Machado, claiming that returning migrants are criminals. Let’s counter this with the Cuadrantes de Paz, and let the people tell the truth!” Maduro said, referring to the community security system promoted by the Bolivarian government.

During a meeting with candidates from the Simon Bolivar Great Patriotic (GPPSB), he coordinated with Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), to counter what he called the “lies of the right.”

Maduro also highlighted the leading role of organized communities and the Bolivarian Revolution in the communication battle.

“Social media should be spaces for reflection and revolutionary guidance, not platforms for fascist manipulation,” the Bolivarian leader said, urging the GPPSB candidates and communal councils to strengthen the dissemination of achievements in security and the social reintegration of migrants.

“The power of the organized people is the foundation of our Republic. Those who attempt to tarnish our peace will face justice,” Maduro said, calling for the mobilization of the structures of the Bolivarian Revolution to refute the far-righ opposition’s narrative.

Held under the slogan “Truth versus Manipulation,” the meeting with leftist candidates brought together grassroots leaders and representatives of community circuits and also served to reinforce revolutionary unity ahead of the upcoming subnational elections.
