LGBTIQ+ collectives, migrants, feminists, and social organizations gathered in a massive assembly at Parque Lezama in Buenos Aires, where they agreed to convene the first Federal Anti-Fascist and Anti-Racist Pride March, to take place this Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the iconic Plaza de Mayo.

The main mobilization will begin at 4:00 PM local time from the National Congress in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and is expected to be replicated in over a hundred locations across Argentina and in cities worldwide, including London, Madrid, Lisbon, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, and Montevideo.

The march aims to consolidate a united front against the rise of fascism, racism, and neoliberal policies that, according to organizers, promote hate speech and dehumanizing practices.

María Pía Ceballos, a member of the Trans Movement of Argentina (MTA) from Salta, emphasized the importance of this event: “It is urgent and necessary to put a stop to so much cruelty and policies that threaten our lives. This march represents a shift from the struggle against neoliberalism to a broader fight against fascism and racism.”

In addition to the gathering in Buenos Aires, other Argentine towns will join the mobilization. In Curuzú Cuatiá, in the province of Corrientes, the demonstration will take place on Friday, January 31, at 7:00 PM in Plaza Belgrano, marking the start of activities in the country.

The call has garnered widespread international support, reflecting global concern over the resurgence of far-right ideologies and the need to defend democracy and human rights. “This is a collective cry in defense of life, diversity, and social justice,” Ceballos concluded.

The Federal Anti-Fascist and Anti-Racist Pride March is shaping up to be a milestone in the fight for inclusion and resistance against exclusionary and violent policies, establishing itself as a space of unity and resistance for minorities and the most vulnerable sectors of society.
