One of the former detainees, quoted by AA news agency, claimed that “the Israeli prison guards said they would only provide him with enough food to keep him alive”.
“11 prisoners were given two plates of rice,” Atef Awahdeh said in a viral social media account.
On the other hand, a prisoner from the penitentiary of the city of Nablus stressed that he was only given “three spoonfuls of rice per day, exactly”.
“The Israeli prison guards said they would only provide him with enough food to keep him alive,” another prisoner added.
In the same vein, lawyer Sari Hurriyah admitted that he lost 17.63 pounds in a 10-day period of imprisonment and added that “five people had to share a plate and eat the food with their bare hands”.
«When I got out, I weighed 25 kilos less. My family didn’t recognize me», added Firas Hassan, another Palestinian prisoner released from Israeli oppression.
