The Peru Libre party has issued a strong statement against President Dina Boluarte, condemning her recent decision to receive Edmundo González Urrutia, whom they describe as a “losing candidate” in the presidential elections on July 28, 2024.

This act, by members of Free Peru, represents a serious interference in the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and questions the legitimacy of the Peruvian government.

In its statement, Peru Libre emphasizes its commitment to respecting the self-determination of peoples, expressing its rejection of Boluarte’s “interference.”

They argue that this action not only exacerbates the political controversy in the region but also weakens democratic institutions in Peru, a country that has experienced multiple political crises in recent years.

The representatives of Free Peru did not spare criticism of Boluarte’s regime, recalling that her rise to power was marked by “brutal repression,” which resulted in the deaths of 49 civilians.

In this sense, they question the legitimacy of her government and its alignment with right-wing political forces that, according to them, are against the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people, who elected Nicolás Maduro as president.

The statement by Free Peru also calls on the governments of the region to respect the self-determination of peoples and promote cooperative relations based on equality and mutual respect.

This stance highlights not only discontent with Boluarte’s actions but also a fervent defense of what they consider to be the democratic and sovereign rights of Venezuela.

The words of Peru Libre underline a clear rejection of any attempt at external intervention, reaffirming their position in favor of self-determination and respect for each nation’s sovereign decisions.

The situation raises questions about the future of diplomatic relations in the region and the role that figures like Dina Boluarte will play on the Latin American political scene.
