Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan announced the successful conclusion of the emergency polio vaccination campaign in the Gaza Governorate on Tuesday.

In a press statement, he reported that 297 children were vaccinated on the fourth day of the campaign in Gaza City, bringing the total number of vaccinated children in the city to 105,558.

Abu Ramadan highlighted that across the Gaza Strip, a total of 556,774 children under the age of 10 received the vaccine during this second round of immunization, achieving an impressive coverage rate of 94 percent.

However, he raised concerns regarding the situation in North Gaza Governorate, where children remain unable to receive their second dose of the vaccine due to the ongoing escalation of Israeli military actions.

These attacks have targeted treatment and vaccination centers and severely restricted movement within the region.

The Minister emphasized the critical importance of the second dose for ensuring full immunity against polio and preventing future transmission of the virus. He warned that the current circumstances pose a significant risk to Palestinian children’s health and well-being.
