On Thursday, some children were taken by ambulance to Ben al ABd hospital in North Sinai.

On Thursday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned that health conditions in the Gaza Strip keep worsening as residents desperately need health care.

Currently, only a small number of UNRWA health centers remain operational in Gaza. Teams in Nuseirat in central Gaza continue to serve local families, but a severe shortage of medicine and fuel is hampering lifesaving operations.

The UNRWA also said piles of waste and sewage surround the Palestinians in Gaza. “Health conditions keep worsening due to crowded shelters, lack of food, water and fuel, minimal access to medical supplies, and summer heat,” it said.

On Thursday, 68 sick and injured children, 20 of them with cancer, and their companions entered Egypt for the first time from the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom border crossing.

The Palestinian children were taken by ambulance to Ben al ABd hospital in North Sinai, where some of them will also receive treatment for burns.

The way in which the patients exited is “difficult and complicated,” which “has not been and will not be” an alternative to the Rafah land crossing, Mohammed Zaqout, director of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, said.

Since the offensive against the Gaza Strip began on Oct. 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation army has killed at least 37,718 Palestinians, according to the latest data from the Gaza-based health authorities.
