Gaza Strip: At Least 44 Killed After Israeli Bombardment

The IDF declared Al Mawasi a “safe area” after forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes, but on several occasions fired on the territory.
On Tuesday, at least 44 Palestinians were killed and more than a hundred injured in Israeli shelling in the Gaza Strip, which included a refugee area and a UN school.

Health authorities in the territory said 23 citizens were killed and 73 injured in an attack on an educational facility run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East.
The facility is located in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the coastal enclave, where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched several attacks in recent days.
On Tuesday, another 17 people were killed and 26 wounded in a similar attack on the Al Mawasi area near the southern town of Khan Younis.
The IDF declared Al Mawasi a “safe area” after forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes, but on several occasions fired on the territory.
A raid there at the weekend killed 90 people and wounded some 300 in an operation allegedly targeting the head of Hamas’s military wing, Mohammed Deif.
In the town of Beit Lahia, another four fatalities and five injuries were reported, the official Wafa news agency said.
According to official figures, since the beginning of the current wave of violence on 7 October 2023, more than 28,700 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and another 89,000 wounded.
