On Monday, the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights denounced dozens of killings of civilians by Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been under attack since October 2023.

In a statement, the non-governmental organization said it documented dozens of premeditated deaths on the ground carried out by the Armed Forces of the neighboring country.
It also accused the military of terrorizing the population, forcibly expelling them from their homes, bombing the coastal enclave’s infrastructure and attacking refugee centers.
As an example, he cited the killings of Khaled Mustafa Ismail Al-Shafi’i (58) and his eldest son Ibrahim (21) last Wednesday, when they were shot in their home in the northern town of Beit Lahia.
At noon, the occupation forces began advancing towards the area where we were, we remained trapped in the house and after less than two hours, the Israelis blew the door and stormed the house, said Tammam Abdel-Maqadma, 61.
“I stayed with my family on the upper floor, while my sister Haifa, her husband Khaled and their children were on the lower floor. We heard the sound of gunshots and were afraid to see what was happening,” she noted.
When we went down to the first floor, I found my sister’s husband, Khaled, killed after being hit by two bullets in the stomach, along with his son Ibrahim, he stressed.
The Observatory warned that thousands of besieged Palestinians in the north of the Strip are suffering from hunger and fear, while the wounded often cannot be transferred for treatment.
We confirmed that dozens of people died under the rubble after their homes were shelled, it said.
A member of the Hamouda family told the ngo that during his return home in the north he saw the bodies of five young men from the Zayed and Rajab families lying on the side of the road.
There was a bag of flour next to one of the victims, the army shot him while he was returning to the shelter for displaced people, he explained.
The food situation is very difficult, whatever food we get we distribute it first to the children and in smaller quantity to the elderly, he detailed.
