Gaza Strip: New Israeli Attack Against a School Left At Least 28 Dead

Abu Hussein Primary School in Jabalia, north of Gaza, belongs to the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) network of schools.

The Gaza Strip’s health ministry reported that the Israeli occupation bombed another school on Thursday, killing at least 28 refugees, including several children.

The occupants attacked the Abu Hussein primary school in the Jabalia refugee camp, north of the Gaza Strip. It is a centre belonging to the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) school network.

The bombing caused the tents of many refugees in the school yard to burn down. Dozens of people are reported injured, said Medhat Abbas, an official from the Gaza Ministry of Health.

«They are killing civilians and children, burned under fire (…) There is no water to put out the fire. There is nothing. This is a massacre», described Abbas.

The victims of the Israeli attack were taken to Kamal Adwan hospital in Beith Lahia. Staff of the hospital declared to international media that they cannot attend «the large number of wounded and martyrs who came to the center as a result of the attack».

The hospital has been under siege for three days, after the Israeli occupation ordered its staff, patients, escorts and displaced civilians to evacuate it.

The Zionist military is also besieging Al Awda hospital in Jabalia and the Indonesian Hospital, also in Beit Lahia. It seeks to collapse health care in northern Gaza and consummate the plan to expel the Palestinian population from that part of the Strip.

Gaza authorities have reported repeated attacks by the occupation on schools where displaced civilians live. They claim that Israel attacks them deliberately, often using high-powered bombs and missiles that generate true massacres.

At least three other attacks on schools with displaced persons were reported between 1 and 10 October, resulting in dozens of martyrs.

In parallel, for months the Zionist entity has demonized UNRWA. Accuses her of being linked to the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas and has made public that it wants to expel her from the occupied Palestinian territories, which would be a severe blow to the humanitarian assistance received by the population.

Since 7 October, Israeli bombing has killed 228 UNRWA workers and damaged 190 of its facilities, whose location is known to Israel. In that time, Israel has massacred 42,438 Gazaites.
