The Government Information Office of Gaza has reported that Israel has committed 9,268 massacres in Gaza over more than 15 months of constant siege, resulting in the deaths of over 61,000 Palestinians as part of a war aimed at cleansing the territory and colonizing it with Israeli settlements.

This genocidal campaign has claimed the lives of more than 61,709 Palestinians, with 47,487 confirmed dead in hospitals and another 14,222 missing under rubble or on the streets. Additionally, the killing of 1,155 healthcare workers, 205 journalists, and 194 members of Civil Defense teams has been documented. The scale of the attacks has rendered 34 hospitals inoperable, while heavy machinery necessary for clearing paths has been destroyed by 80 percent.
The indiscriminate use of over 85,000 tons of bombs, including white phosphorus, exceeds the amount of explosives used during World War II and has caused catastrophic environmental damage. Vast agricultural areas have been devastated, contaminating soil with toxic substances that will hinder agriculture for decades. Water infrastructure has also been severely impacted, polluting groundwater and creating a long-term health and environmental disaster.
Direct economic losses across various sectors exceed $50 billion, with over $1.5 billion lost solely in the transportation sector. The destruction of government infrastructure includes 216 completely destroyed government buildings and facilities, along with 60 severely damaged sites.
Mass Displacement and Homes Reduced to Rubble
This genocide has led to the displacement of over two million Palestinians, some relocated more than 25 times and living in inhumane conditions without access to basic services. This figure represents about 8 percent of Gaza’s population who have been direct victims of this war. More than 462,000 people have moved from southern to northern Gaza in an attempt to rebuild their lives using makeshift shelters or tents on the ruins of their former homes.
Nearly 450,000 housing units have been damaged; among them are 170,000 completely destroyed homes, 80,000 severely damaged ones, and 200,000 partially affected properties according to UN reports. Palestinian communities have suffered heartbreaking losses, with 2,092 families completely erased from civil registries and 4,889 families reduced to a single surviving member.
Despite some roads being opened, the situation for these displaced individuals remains precarious as they face a severe water crisis; around 60 percent of areas within the enclave lack access to this vital resource.
Humanitarian Aid for Children Amid Chaos
More than 17,881 children have been killed in this conflict—including 214 babies born only to die during the aggression—while approximately 38,000 children have become orphans; among them are about 17,000 who lost both parents. Organizations such as UNICEF and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) are intensifying efforts to provide vital assistance despite ongoing obstacles imposed by Israel against previously agreed ceasefire terms.
UNICEF has accelerated its distribution of supplies and services with over 350 trucks filled with water, hygiene kits, malnutrition treatments, clothing, and other essential aid. The World Food Programme (WFP) has restored all its bakeries in northern Gaza and resumed food package distributions reaching up to 350,000 people. UNRWA continues to assist populations in Gaza and the West Bank while its health centers remain operational for patients in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The UN and its partners are providing water, food, and medical care to displaced individuals returning to northern areas. Currently, only 18 out of the 36 hospitals in Gaza are functioning partially. It is estimated that between 12,000 and 14,000 people require specialized care outside Gaza and should be transferred to other countries for treatment.
