In a letter to the director general of the anti-corruption unit, Dominique Dupuy called for an investigation to be launched in this direction in order to eliminate misconduct within the institution.

Dupuy suggested investigating the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic missions for the period 2021 to 2024.

The Foreign Ministry issued a request to diplomatic missions, permanent representations, permanent delegations and consular offices to promptly submit information of an administrative nature.

According to a report by the ministry’s Human Resources Directorate – quoted by the online newspaper Juno 7 – several diplomats who have been in office for many years do not have the skills required for their functions.

Most of them are protégés of former parliamentarians, former presidents and ministers, and will therefore be recalled and dismissed without delay.
