Hezbollah Claims Launch of 50 Rockets from Lebanon Towards Israel

In the early hours of Wednesday, October 15, the Israeli military reported an attack originating from Lebanese territory directed at northern Israel. The militant group Hezbollah later claimed responsibility for the assault. According to the Israeli Defense Forces, the rockets targeted the Safed area in northern Israel, although there are currently no reports of casualties.
Hezbollah justified the attack as retaliation for Israel’s ongoing military actions. This was confirmed through a statement posted on the Telegram channel of the Islamic Resistance, as well as reports to local media. The statement read:

Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general, Naim Qassem, stated that due to their “right to defend themselves” following a massive bombing campaign initiated by Israel in Lebanon at the end of September, the group is capable of attacking “any point” within Israel.
The ongoing conflict has had severe humanitarian consequences in Lebanon, with over 2,100 deaths reported and more than 10,000 injuries primarily attributed to the escalation of the Israeli attacks in recent weeks.
