Hezbollah Launches Its Biggest Attack on Israeli Targets

Hezbollah fired over a hundred Katyusha rockets, artillery shells and guided missiles at Israeli settlements and military installations.

The Lebanese Islamic resistance movement Hezbollah launched on the morning of this Wednesday an attack with large numbers of missiles against Israeli settlements and military installations located in the north of the occupied Palestinian territories, action considered the largest deployed by the group in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

In a statement, the militia confirmed that more than a hundred shells of various types were launched against settler settlements and the military research and development company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

According to Hezbollah, its Katyusha-type rockets, artillery shells and guided missiles, which Lebanese media estimate at about 160, directly hit targets in the city of Tiberias. Air alerts were also activated in the cities of Safed and Rosh Pina, as well as the settlements of Metula and Kyriat Shimona.

The occupation army confirmed the attack. He added that several missiles were intercepted, but others struck areas north of occupied Palestine and caused fires. Israeli media reported numerous explosions and power outages in areas of Safed.

The Palestinian news agency Sama reported that a large number of rockets hit the headquarters of the Air Control Unit and the Air Operations Department, located at the Israeli air base of Meron, strategic for the occupation army.

In claiming responsibility for the attack, Hizbollah further stated that it was in retaliation for bombings by the Israeli occupiers against civilian localities in southern Lebanon. During these attacks, a senior Shiite commander and three combatants, identified as Sami Taleb Abdullah, head of a division, and Mohammad Sabra, Ali Sufane and Hussein Hamayed, were killed in the town of Jouaiyya.

In a sequence of subsequent attacks, with the use of drones, missiles and other means, Hezbollah impacted in the Saal settlement the Balasan military industries factory, specialized in armoring and protecting military vehicles, Five Israelis were injured and taken to a hospital in Safed.

In addition, it impacted Northern Legion headquarters facilities at Ein Zeitim base and Northern Legion reserve headquarters at the Galilee Division reserve base and its warehouses in Amiad.

Some days ago, Hezbollah claimed it had the capabilities to expand its actions against the Israeli occupiers. On Tuesday, with the use of a surface-to-air missile, the Shiite military shot down a third Hermes 900 reconnaissance and attack drone, manufactured by Israel.

Hours after the attacks, Israeli warplanes bombed several locations in southern Lebanon. It claimed that its targets were two missile launchers and locations from which Hezbollah launched other shells.
