Hezbollah Promises a Fierce Response After Israeli Murder of Commander

The attack that killed Fuad Shukr on 30 July was the second time that Israel had struck the southern suburbs of Lebanon.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah promised on Tuesday a «strong and effective» response to the assassination of his military commander by Israel last week and said he would act alone or with his regional allies.

In that regard, Nasrallah said that Hezbollah would wait for the right moment to respond, but avoided mentioning how or when it would do so.
However, he claimed that all international attempts to persuade Hizbollah not to retaliate for the Zionist escalation «were futile».
«Whatever the consequences, the resistance will not let these Israeli attacks pass,» he said in a televised speech commemorating one week since the assassination of Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.
He pointed out in that direction that «Our response, if God wills it, will be strong, effective and impactful».
As Nasrallah delivered his speech, Israeli warplanes swooped down on the Lebanese capital, sparking a series of sonic booms that shook the windows of the entire city and forced people to take refuge.
The Zionist incursion into southern Lebanon, raises concerns that the situation in the Middle East may turn into a total war following Hizbullah’s promises to seek justice, the assassination of Shukr and the assassination in Tehran, last week, the head of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
The attack that killed Shukr on July 30 was the second time Israel has hit the southern suburbs of Lebanon in 10 months of hostilities in the latest Zionist escalation taking place parallel to the genocidal war being waged by Tel Aviv.
Hezbollah previously said it launched a swarm of attack drones against two military sites near Acre in northern Israel and attacked an Israeli military vehicle elsewhere.
The IDF said that several «hostile» drones were identified crossing from Lebanon and one of them was intercepted.
