Nasralah said that some 340 rockets were fired at at least eleven Israeli military bases and targets in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The leader of the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement, Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, announced this Sunday that the attack with projectiles and drones that was launched against Israel on this day was only the first part of the response to the murder a few weeks ago of their commander Sayyed Fuad Shokr, perpetrated by the Zionist entity in a suburb of Beirut, the Lebanese capital.

During a televised message following the so-called Operation Arbain, Nasralá emphasized that “today’s response is initial and preliminary, and if the outcome of the operation is not sufficient for us, we will decide what to do next”.

In that regard, he detailed that 340 rockets were fired and dozens of drones were used against at least 11 Israeli bases and “military targets, deep inside” the occupied Palestinian territories.

He further maintained that the Glilot military espionage base and the Army air defence base were the two main targets of the attack.

Nasralah stated that Katiusha missiles were used and, although no strategic missiles have been used in this first stage, he did not rule out the possibility of these being used later.

He also applauded the support of Palestinian fighters, who fired hundreds of rockets to fool Israel’s multi-layered missile system and get dozens of drones into the occupied territories.

It also denied the Israeli narrative of the alleged destruction of thousands of rocket launchers in Lebanese territory prior to the attack.

“The objective of the operation was achieved and more,” he said, while specifying that the Israeli enemy bombarded “valleys that were empty or evacuated,” and only reached two platforms that participated in the launching of the shells after the operation.

The Shia militia leader also said that the response to the Israeli attack on Fuad Shokr was delayed by political issues, including ceasefire negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas.

However, he warned that if the outcome of this day’s operation is not satisfactory, Hezbollah will reserve “the right to respond at another time”.

Hezbollah had previously issued a statement announcing its response against Israel and stressing that it would respond severely and harshly if Israel attacked civilians in Lebanon.
