In the past two weeks, the conflict in the region has led to the displacement of approximately 26,000 Palestinians in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, according to Farha Abu al-Haija, a member of the Popular Committee of the Jenin refugee camp.
This situation has intensified with the ongoing attacks by the Israeli army, which have resulted in the destruction of nearly 180 buildings in the area.
Since the beginning of this aggression, now lasting 17 days, the occupying forces have demolished vital infrastructure, forcing many families to leave their homes and seek refuge in refugee camps.
The Media Committee of the Jenin Camp has reported that around 15,000 residents of the camp have been displaced due to the violence.
The humanitarian situation is worsening with the interruption of basic services; schools have closed and four hospitals are suffering from water shortages. The population of Jenin is facing desperate conditions, with a lack of water and electricity.
The city’s mayor, Mohammad Jarrar, has stated that the community is in a state of total paralysis, and since last month, at least 25 people have lost their lives in the refugee camp.
Additionally, Israeli forces have surrounded the Jenin Government Hospital, further complicating access to medical care. Civil Defense teams are working alongside the municipality to provide water to areas affected by shortages.
The aggression is not limited to Jenin; it has also spread to other localities in occupied West Bank, such as Tubas and Tulkarem. Recently, airstrikes have been reported in the village of Tamoun by Israeli drones.
Video footage circulated from Tulkarem shows massive devastation in local infrastructure, reflecting a humanitarian crisis that continues to worsen.
