The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of more than 460 undocumented immigrants within the first 33 hours of Donald Trump’s second presidential term.

According to a report obtained by Fox News Digital, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division carried out these arrests between midnight on January 21 and 9:00 a.m. on January 22. The detained individuals reportedly include those with criminal records for offenses such as sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug and weapons charges, resisting arrest, and domestic violence.

The arrests involve nationals from various countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal, and Venezuela.

During his campaign, President Trump criticized the Democratic administration for what he described as orchestrating an “invasion of the United States” by reducing border security. He also repeatedly suggested imposing the death penalty on undocumented immigrants who commit murder against U.S. citizens or law enforcement officers.

In a related move, the White House announced that President Trump had ordered the Pentagon to deploy an additional 1,500 military personnel to the southern border to address illegal crossings.

The Washington Post, citing information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, reported that this additional deployment could increase to 10,000 troops, supplementing the approximately 2,500 military personnel allocated to border management under former President Joe Biden.

This rapid and large-scale operation underscores President Trump’s commitment to stricter immigration policies, a cornerstone of his presidency. These early actions signal an aggressive approach to border security and deportation enforcement, likely marking a significant shift from the policies of the previous administration.
