Indonesia’s participation in BRICS is seen as a significant step toward enhancing investment and trade between Jakarta and the member countries of the group.

BRICS, which currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, aims to promote economic independence from the dollar and foster development through strategic cooperation, trade, and solidarity among its members. Recently, the group expanded its membership by welcoming Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, and Iran.

This year, the rotating presidency of BRICS is held by Russia, which took on the leadership role on January 1st.

Indonesia’s active participation in this summit underscores its commitment to strengthening economic and political relations on the international stage.
