Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council “calling for an urgent meeting of the Security Council to take a decisive stance in condemning this aggression,” referring to the Israeli strikes, according to a statement issued by his ministry.

The Iranian authorities also announced on Sunday that the number of martyrs as a result of the attack carried out by Israel at dawn on Saturday had risen to 5, one of them is a civilian.

The official Iranian news agency “IRNA” reported that the civilian “Allah Wardi Rahim Pour” was martyred as a result of the Israeli attack on the outskirts of the capital Tehran, bringing the death toll to 5 people.

On Saturday evening, the Iranian army announced in a statement that the Israeli attack led to the deaths of 4 of its soldiers.

On Saturday morning, the Israeli army announced launching a 4-hour attack on Iran, which confirmed that it successfully confronted “the attempts of the Zionist entity to attack some points in Tehran and the country.”

The attack came after Iran launched more than 180 rockets at Israel in early October, in what Tehran said was “revenge” for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’s political bureau; Hassan Nasrallah, secretary-general of Hezbollah; and Revolutionary Guard commander Abbas Nilforoushan.
