This incident once again proved that the U.S. supports the Zionist state’s crimes, Iranian President Pezeshkian said.
On Wednesday, Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian criticized the United States and its allies for their support for Israel following the pager explosions in Lebanon, an action he blamed on the Zionist state and called the “height of criminality.”

“This incident once again proved that although Western countries and the U.S. claim to be seeking a ceasefire, in practice they fully support the crimes, massacres, and blind murders of the Zionist regime,” he said during a Cabinet meeting.
The simultaneous pager explosions in Lebanon and Syria are a “shame for Western countries, especially the U.S., which do not give up any chance to advance their inhuman goals,” Pezeshkian said, noting that the use of “tools designed for human welfare as tools of terror is the height of criminality.”
Pezeshkian called for the union of Muslim countries to “break the chain of oppression and crimes of the Zionist regime and its supporters against the oppressed Palestinians and the Islamic world.”
Two days ago, the Iranian president extended his hand to the United States and assured that direct negotiations were possible between the two countries if Washington showed its “good intentions.”
The chain explosion of pagers in Lebanon caused the death of 12 people and injured almost 3,000 people. Among the victims is the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, who is currently recovering from the explosion.
Iran is one of the main allies of Hezbollah, a group that it has supported financially and with weapons since the 1980s.
