Iran Mourns the Martyrdom of General Abbas Nilforoushan in Lebanon

Thousands of Iranians attended the funeral of General Abbas Nilforushan, who was killed by Israel in southern Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday, 15 October.

The mourning memorial of the body of the Iranian general Nilforushan, killed in an Israeli attack on the suburb of Dahiya, in the south of Beirut, Lebanese capital, took place at the Imam Hussein square in Tehran, Iran.
With slogans of “Death to the US” and “Death to Israel” and the flags of Iran and the Islamic Resistance Movement of Lebanon, Hezbollah, thousands of Iranians gathered in the Imam Hussein square.
Brigadier General Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), went to Mehrabad airport (Tehran) to receive the body of martyred General Abbas Nilforushan.
There was also a tribute ceremony at the airport, attended by Commander Qaani and other comrades of General Nilforushan, as well as Iranian officials and relatives of the deceased.
Qaani has not been seen in public since the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a major air strike at the end of September, which led to speculation that he may also have been killed in the attack.
General Nilforushan was killed during the intense Israeli air raids where he was also martyred, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hasam Nasrallah.
In response to these Israeli crimes, on 1 October Iran launched 200 ballistic missiles at Israel’s military and intelligence targets in the occupied Palestinian territories.
