‘If you make the mistake of attacking our targets, whether in the region or in Iran, we will respond with a painful attack,’ it said.
On Thursday, Hosein Salami, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said that his country would respond to any military action Israel is planning in retaliation for the Iranian bombing that occurred on October 1.

“If you make the mistake of attacking our targets, whether in the region or in Iran, we will respond with a painful attack,” Salami said at the funeral of Iranian General Abbas Nilforushan.
“To each point you attack, there will be painful retaliation to the same point from you, decide carefully,” the IRGC commander-in-chief added.
On September 27, Iranian General Nilforushan was killed during the Israeli bombing in southern Beirut in which Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was also killed. Days later, Iran launched nearly 200 missiles at Israel in retaliation for the bombing that killed Nasrallah and Nilforushan.
On Wednesday, CNN claimed that Israel already has a plan ready to attack Iran. Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials assured the United States that the counterattack against Iran will be limited to military targets and will not include oil or nuclear facilities.
The new details of this plan come hours after Israel said it would listen to the Washington’s suggestions on this matter, but would make its own “decisions.” This was stated on Tuesday by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement sent to The Washington Post following an article in this newspaper claiming that Israel would attack military targets.
According to The Washington Post, Netanyahu had communicated to the administration of President Joe Biden his intention to attack military installations in Iran instead of oil or nuclear targets during the telephone call they had last Wednesday.
