Israel has officially announced its withdrawal from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), according to a statement by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Wednesday.

The move follows a decision by U.S. President Donald Trump, who signed an executive order the previous day to withdraw the United States from both the UNHRC and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

“Israel welcomes President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the UN Human Rights Council. Israel joins the U.S. and will no longer participate in the UNHRC,” Saar stated on his official X account.
