Israel Attacked the Main Financial Institution of Hezbollah

According to the official Lebanese National News Agency four Israeli strikes were launched in the southern suburb of Beirut on Sunday, some of which targeted the Hezbollah-affiliated “Al-Qard Al-Hassan Association” after calling on residents to stay away from them.

At least three branches of the association, the “Al-Qard Al-HassanAssociation” were targeted in the Al-Salam neighborhood and in Burj Al-Barajneh, after the Israeli army warned that it would soon begin targeting “these terrorist infrastructures.”
A Lebanese security source reported that the Israeli strikes targeted the vicinity of Beirut’s only international airport on Sunday, while the Lebanese National news Agency images showed clouds of smoke rising from locations near the vital facility.
Qard al-Hassan Association, a charity and financial organization that acts as Hezbollah’s own banking system and microfinance company.
It is used by many in Lebanon as an alternative Islamic banking system and, following the Israeli army’s threats, Qard al-Hassan released a statement saying it had previously taken measures to protect people’s deposits.
Qard al-Hassan was established in 1983 and has been registered as a non-governmental organization since 1987. It is a charity and financial organization that acts as Hezbollah’s own banking system and microfinance company.
The organization currently has a significant presence in areas where Hezbollah has a large support base, operating in 31 offices across Beirut’s southern suburbs — where its headquarters is located — the Bekaa and southern Lebanon.
The Israeli military warned on Sunday afternoon that it would begin targeting “infrastructures” belonging to the Hezbollah-affiliated “Al-Qard Al-Hassan” association, calling on residents to stay away from them immediately.
