In the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation army has killed over 60 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, an Israeli artillery attack killed at least ten people and injured 40 others at a food distribution center run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip.

The bodies and the wounded were taken to the Al Awda hospital in Jabalia. Another 13 injured people were transferred to Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia by the Gaza Civil Defense, said its spokesperson, Mahmud Basal.

In the past 24 hours, the Israeli occupation army has killed over 60 people in the Gaza Strip, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Last night, an Israeli airstrike on the Mufti school, which was sheltering displaced people in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, left at least 23 dead and dozens wounded.

Eighteen bodies were taken to the Al Awda hospital in Nuseirat, and another five to the Martyrs of Al Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah, which was shortly after hit by another Israeli attack that sparked a fire and killed four more people.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called the Israeli attack a “horrible massacre” and stressed that U.S. support and the silence of the international community have allowed Israel to continue the war in Gaza and expand it to southern Lebanon.

UNRWA Commissioner Philippe Lazzarini said that the school was supposed to be used as a vaccination center in the second phase of a campaign to immunize thousands of Gaza children against polio, which began this Monday.

The second phase of the polio vaccination campaign aims to reach 591,000 children under the age of ten. In recent days, the United Nations has asked Israel not to issue new evacuation orders to the Gaza population to ensure all children can participate in the campaign, which is expected to conclude by the end of the month.

The United Nations has also insisted on respecting the scheduled times for “humanitarian pauses,” meaning the part of the day during which both sides of the conflict are to refrain from any military action. This was largely observed during the first phase of vaccinations in September.

Since October 2023, Israeli occupation forces have killed 42,289 Palestinians and injured over 98,000 people in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of missing people remain buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli bombings.
