Israel Eliminates Hamas Leader and Ideologue Yahya Sinwar

On Thursday, the Israeli Defense Forces murdered the leader and ideologue of the Palestinian resistance group Yahya Sinwar in an attack in Rafah, south Gaza.

The killing was reportedly carried out in fighting between infantry and Hamas militia during a routine patrol on Wednesday in Rafah, at the southern end of the Gaza Strip.
The confirmation of his death was made after a series of DNA tests on the body of a combatant who fell in the Rafah confrontation.
Yahya Ibrahim Sinwar, a Palestinian born in 1962, at the Khan Yunis camp, refugee from occupied Ashkelon. This is Abu Ibrahim, who was a martyr as head of the political council of the Hamas movement, succeeding the also martyred Abu Al-Abd, Ismail Haniyeh.
On October 7, 2023, Sinwar led the Al-Qsa Flood operation which started the surge of Israeli aggression.
The militant was appointed as a leader of Hamas after Israeli forces killed the group’s then political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in August during a bombing raid while he was visiting Tehran.
