Israel Intensifies Attacks on Gaza Amid Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis

In recent hours, Israel has escalated its assault on the Gaza Strip as part of its ongoing military campaign against civilians, resulting in over 45,000 Palestinian deaths since October 2023. In the early hours of Wednesday, eight individuals were killed in a bombing targeting a home in Jabalia al-Nazla, located in northern Gaza.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces launched artillery attacks on Kamal Adwan Hospital, leading to additional casualties.
Further bombings were reported in Deir al-Balah, where a residential building was struck, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Military aircraft also targeted a home on Jaffa Street in Deir al-Balah while simultaneously attacking another residence near Ain Jalut Towers south of Nuseirat.
In southern Gaza, local media reported ten casualties—dead, injured, and missing—following an airstrike on a house in the Ma’an region east of Khan Younis. Additionally, two Palestinians lost their lives and others were injured when Israeli forces attacked a residential apartment in Al-Manara area south of Khan Younis.
Five more Palestinians were killed in an attack on a refugee tent in Al-Mawasi region, with further injuries reported due to Israeli artillery fire directed at Rafah city. The systematic assault on the health sector continues, particularly targeting hospitals in northern Gaza.
Tom Fletcher, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs at the United Nations, confirmed that Israel has recorded the highest number of humanitarian worker fatalities in history during 2024. Since the onset of hostilities on October 7, 2023, Israeli aggression has resulted in the deaths of 45,338 civilians—predominantly women and children—and left another 107,764 individuals injured.
The situation remains dire as international calls for urgent humanitarian intervention grow louder amidst the escalating violence and destruction affecting countless lives across Gaza.
