Kamal Adwan is one of the few centers still operating in the northern Gaza Strip, where Zionist soldiers have killed over 700 Palestinians and forced the displacement of thousands over the past three weeks.

On Thursday afternoon, Israeli tanks fired at the hospital and destroyed an oxygen station. “As a result of the attack, several children died, and staff were injured,” stated Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Earlier, Gaza’s Civil Defense warned that emergency medical services in the northern enclave have been suspended due to the intense Israeli offensive, which “has laid siege to the main hospitals and directly attacked ambulances and rescue teams” for the past twenty days.

The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia had to close due to the attacks, while Kamal Adwan in the same city and Al Awda in the Jabalia refugee camp are barely functioning and on the brink of collapse.

“Civil Defense vehicles have been directly attacked, and the only ambulance remaining in the north has been destroyed by Israeli artillery,” said Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal.

Meanwhile, Gazan authorities estimate that a new wave of attacks on the Jabalia refugee camp has caused around 150 deaths, though rescue services have been unable to access the area due to the Israeli troops’ siege.
