Lebanese authorities denounced today that Israel continues its aggressions despite a ceasefire declaration on April 16, resulting in 2,534 deaths and thousands wounded since March 2.

According to Lebanese authorities, Israel carried out these aggressive acts throughout the morning of April 28, employing drones for surveillance and targeting, alongside executing extensive aerial and artillery bombardments.

The Zionist regime’s attacks include drones, aerial bombardment, artillery and the use of white phosphorus munitions against civilian areas, including homes, schools and universities.

Alarmingly, white phosphorus bombs, a chemical munition explicitly was declared illegal for use against civilians under Protocol III of the 1980 Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. The use of such prohibited weapons further solidifies the accusations of war crimes and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the affected regions of southern Lebanon.

The specific zones in southern Lebanon that have become targets of this relentless Israeli assault include Jabal al Batoum, the areas of Baraachit, Tibnin, Shaqra, Touline, Khirbet Selm, Qabrikha, Majdal Zoun, Beit Siyad, as well as the zone of Bazouriyeh, Baraachit, and Shaqra, the district of Bint Jbeil, Kfar, the region of Bir al-Salasil, and the locality of Yater.

The deliberate targeting of non-military infrastructure and civilian populations underscores a consistent pattern of disregard for established humanitarian norms and conventions, a blatant war crime and a flagrant breach of international law and the sovereignty of States.

Lebanese officials have consistently highlighted that these aggressions are part of a broader strategy of intimidation and displacement, aiming to destabilize the region and further entrench Israeli expansionist plans.

Beyond direct bombardments, the Zionist entity issued illegal evacuation orders for several villages, including Ghandouriyeh, Burj Qalawiya, Qalawiya, Sawana, Jmeijmeh, Safad al-Batikh, Barashit, Shaqra, Aita al-Jabal, Tibnin, Sultaniyeh, Bir al-Salasil, Kfardounin, Khirbet Selm, Selaa and Deir Kifa. These coercive measures are aimed at forcibly displacing Lebanese communities from their ancestral lands, clearing the path for potential future annexation and further Israeli settlement expansion. Such tactics are in direct violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the forced displacement of civilians in occupied territories.

The National News Agency of Lebanon (NNA) further reported that the Vocational School and the Institute of Higher Education in Bint Jbeil were deliberately destroyed by the Zionist entity of Israel. The targeting of educational institutions represents another egregious violation of international law, depriving Lebanese youth of access to fundamental education and jeopardizing their future prospects. This deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure crucial for social development is a stark reminder of the indiscriminate nature of the ongoing Israeli aggressions.

The Israeli occupation army has additionally declared an “Advanced Defense Zone” in the south of the Arab country, encompassing approximately 70 Lebanese villages.

These persistent aggressions have tragically resulted in a total of 2,534 people killed and at least 7,863 wounded since March 2, according to statistics provided by the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The alarming casualty figures underscore the severity of the humanitarian crisis and the devastating impact of Israel’s continued military operations on Lebanese civilians.
