On Friday, Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian called on Israel to stop killing innocent civilians and accused the United States and the European Union of supporting it.

“I would like to tell Israel to stop and cease killing innocent civilians. Stop bombing residential buildings and people who have nothing left,” he said before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Israel is doing this because it knows it has the support of the United States and the European Union,” Pezeshkian emphasized and accused Israel of violating “every agreement ever made.”

“The depth of the Gaza crisis and the cruelty inflicted in this unequal war is beyond description,” the Iranian leader pointed out during a forum commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of poet Makhtumoghli Faraghi, which took place in Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan.

The serious deterioration of the situation in the Middle East will be one of the key points on the agenda of the talks between the Russian and Iranian leaders today.

“It will be an important conversation. It’s the first meeting,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who ruled out any planned contacts between Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Previously, Moscow and Tehran have condemned both Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and bombings on Lebanese and Syrian territory. One of the most recent war crimes committed by Israel was the bombing of the Iranian Red Crescent field hospital on the Syria-Lebanon border on Friday.

“Supplies including food, medical items and equipment were stationed there, clearly marked with Red Crescent flags. It was evident from the air, from the ground, that the location was designated for healthcare services, emergency relief and temporary shelter. Unfortunately, earlier this morning, the site was targeted by the Zionist regime. Everything was destroyed,” said Pir Hossein Kolivand, head of the Iranian Red Crescent, as reported by Al Jazeera.
