In a significant decision, Israel has announced its withdrawal from the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council, a move supported by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.

This action comes shortly after former U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order withdrawing the United States from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East and the Council itself.

Saar expressed his support for Trump’s decision through his account on the social media platform X, stating that Israel joins the U.S. in this withdrawal.

The minister criticized the Council, arguing that it has focused on attacking Israel, a democratic country, and has fostered antisemitism instead of promoting human rights.

According to his statements, Israel has been the subject of over 100 condemnatory resolutions, representing more than 20% of the total resolutions adopted in the Council’s history, surpassing the condemnations directed at countries such as Iran, Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela.
