Israeli fighter jets launched two missiles at the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, causing severe damage to the facility and forcing the evacuation of patients and wounded individuals. The attack, specifically targeting the ambulance building, critically impacted the hospital’s reception, laboratory, and pharmacy departments.
According to a report by Al Mayadeen’s correspondent, the situation became dire after a second alarm, leading to the rushed evacuation of dozens of patients, many in critical condition, who were seen lying on nearby streets. This attack occurs amid escalating regional violence and has been labeled a war crime by Palestinian authorities.
The Gaza Government Press Office condemned the strike as a repeat of a prior massacre at the same hospital, framing it as part of Israel’s “genocidal war.” They emphasized the attack directly defies international and humanitarian laws prohibiting assaults on medical facilities and personnel.
The statement further alleged that Israel’s offensive has deliberately destroyed 34 hospitals, pushing Gaza’s healthcare system to the brink of collapse. It also held several countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, and France, accountable for supporting or enabling acts of genocide and organized terrorism.
The Baptist Hospital was one of the few operational medical centers in Gaza, providing critical care to over one million Palestinians in northern and central Gaza. The ongoing military offensive, combined with a humanitarian blockade and medical supply shortages, has pushed the healthcare system into near-total crisis.
Palestinian authorities have urged the international community and humanitarian organizations to condemn the attack and take urgent steps to protect Gaza’s remaining medical facilities. Global observers grow increasingly alarmed as violence escalates, threatening thousands of civilian lives and Gaza’s healthcare future.
