Israeli Airstrikes Kill 10 People in Southern Lebanon

The death toll from Israeli airstrikes since 2023 has reached 2,350, while injuries went up to 10,906.

On Tuesday nights, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported that violent Israeli airstrikes killed 10 people and injured 15 in southern Lebanon.

TV footage showed that the airstrike, targeting residential buildings in the town of Qana, 10 km southeast of the city of Tyre, caused a massive fire and destroyed the buildings and nearby vehicles. Civil defense teams and firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire and transport the victims.

“The Israeli enemy’s attack on the buildings of Nabatiyeh City Hall and the Union of Municipalities led, in an initial assessment, to the martyrdom of five people,” the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said, adding that work to remove debris is continuing.

“Israeli fighter jets carried out a violent airstrike on Nabatiyeh and launched more than ten strikes against most of its neighborhoods,” the Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) said at 10.15 local time.

These actions came just hours after the Zionist army launched at least three bombings against the Dayye suburbs, one of the areas south of Beirut that has been hit hardest in the past month and which had not been bombed for five days.

This happened despite Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati saying that his government had obtained “some kind of guarantee” from the United States to stop the attacks on Dahye and Beirut.

Since Sept. 23, Israel has been conducting an unprecedented and intensive airstrikes on Lebanon in a sharp escalation with Hezbollah.
