The Israeli military has launched targeted strikes on military installations in Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two nations. Reports indicate that loud explosions and missile sounds were heard in and around Tehran, the Iranian capital.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed these operations, stating they were a direct response to a series of Iranian missile attacks on Israel that began on October 1, when nearly 200 ballistic missiles were fired at Israeli territory.
In an official statement, the IDF emphasized that these strikes are part of Israel’s right to defend itself against continuous assaults from Iran and its proxies. The military described the operations as “precise strikes” aimed at specific military targets within Iran.
Instead, some of the sounds attributed to explosions were linked to the activation of Iran’s air defense systems.
