The escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip has left at least 48 Palestinians dead since Sunday, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The latest airstrikes killed around ten people in the enclave, local medical sources reported.
In an official statement, the Health Ministry confirmed that 39 new “martyrs” were recorded in the past 24 hours, along with 118 wounded arriving at hospitals. The situation remains critical, with many victims still trapped under the rubble of bombed buildings.
On Monday, at least three people were killed in an airstrike on Tuffah, a neighborhood in northern Gaza, as verified by EFE at Al Shifa field hospital’s morgue. Another strike in the coastal area of Al Mawasi, south of Jan Yunis, killed one Palestinian, while five others died in an attack on a home in the same area overnight.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Army announced the destruction of a tunnel approximately 20 meters deep and hundreds of meters long in Rafah, connecting multiple underground passages. Israeli forces also reported striking around 35 targets in the past day, including a weapons factory and a rocket launch site.
Since the conflict began on October 7, the total death toll has surpassed 50,980, most of them women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The humanitarian crisis has worsened since March 2, when Israel imposed severe restrictions blocking food, aid, water, and medicine from entering Gaza. Conditions continue deteriorating as the international community watches with growing concern.
