Israeli Attack on Beirut Raises Death Toll to 15 and Injuries to 63

At least 15 people were killed and 63 others injured in the Israeli attack this morning on an eight-storey building in downtown Beirut, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported on Saturday in a third casualty count.

Ministry’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre issued a statement in which it reported that 15 people had died in the attack on the property in the central district of Basta, which also left 63 injured.
According to the statement, “a large number of body parts” have been found among the rubble, whose identity and final death toll will be determined after DNA testing.
The attack in that area of the city centre occurred at dawn, hours after Israeli Army aircraft had been engaged in a heavy offensive in the southern part of Beirut, especially around Tyre.
The Israeli army intensified its attacks on various points in Lebanon, with particular emphasis on Tyre and other areas in the south, as well as Baalbek-Hermel in the north-east of the country, which have caused dozens of deaths and injuries, According to preliminary counts by the Lebanese health authorities.
In addition, Emergency Operations Center said in a recent statement that “the Israeli enemy’s raid on Basta al-Fawqa in Beirut led, in a fourth updated and non-final toll, to the martyrdom of twenty people and the injury of sixty-six others.”
Since the beginning of the Israeli strikes on Lebanon, the authorities have reported more than 3670 dead Lebanese and 15413 wounded.
