Several people were injured on Thursday in a series of Israeli bombings against the areas of Jmaijmeh, Majdal Selm and Chaqra, in southern Lebanon, where rescue efforts are underway to reach all victims, reported the National News Agency (ANN).

“Teams of ambulances, volunteers of the Islamic Message Explorers, the Islamic Health Authority and the Lebanese Civil Defense continue to remove debris and inspect the places that were exposed to Israeli air aggression,” the state said.

ANN confirmed that the bombings left a number of wounded, some of them in a house in Majdal Selm, but did not offer a concrete balance.

However, a source from the ambulance teams assured local residents that at least 18 people have been transferred to a hospital in the area, 11 of them from one of the points attacked and the remaining seven from a second place.

Hezbollah and Israel have been caught in heavy crossfire since 8 October, a day after the outbreak of the Gaza war, and these are their worst clashes since the 2006 war.

Earlier this afternoon, the Lebanese resistance claimed responsibility for a major “drone squadron” attack on an Israeli military base south-west of Safed, further from the common divide than is usually the case in the clashes.

According to a statement issued by Hezbollah, the attack was a response to two Israeli bombings against two vehicles that this Thursday killed a fighter of the movement in southern Lebanon and a commander of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the east of the country.
