This brings the total death toll to 43,764, with the majority of victims being women and children. The number of injured has risen to 103,490 since the start of the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
Additionally, Palestinian authorities estimate that more than 10,000 bodies remain trapped under rubble, unable to be retrieved by civil defense teams due to the intensity of the Israeli attacks.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, five Palestinians were killed in various air and artillery strikes in Gaza City and other areas in the northern part of the enclave, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Since early October, Israeli occupation forces have intensified their offensive against northern Gaza, citing the presence of Hamas in the area. Since then, Israeli forces have reportedly killed at least 2,000 people.
The humanitarian situation in northern Gaza has also worsened due to the limited aid entering the territory in recent weeks, as various international organizations, including the United Nations, have reported.
“Simply put, there has not been enough humanitarian assistance in Gaza—not only in recent days or weeks but throughout the 13 months of this brutal Israeli war,” said Louise Wateridge, spokesperson for the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
