Israeli occupation forces detained seven Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday evening, targeting the governorates of Salfit and Hebron, according to local sources.

Five of those detained were residents of Beit Kahel, west of Hebron, who were apprehended while visiting their farmland in the Farsh al-Hawa area. In Salfit, another Palestinian youth was arrested from a store in Deir Istiya town. Earlier in the day, occupation forces also detained a 17-year-old from Tiinnik village, west of Jenin, after besieging a house.
These detentions are part of routine raids carried out by Israeli forces across the West Bank. Often conducted without search warrants, these raids occur at the military’s discretion, frequently sparking clashes with local residents.
Under Israeli military law, commanders have unchecked authority over the 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank, exercising executive, legislative, and judicial powers without input from the Palestinian population.
According to Addameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 10,400 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli custody, including 320 children and 88 women. Of these, approximately 3,376 are held under “administrative detention,” a controversial practice that allows detention without charge or trial based on secret evidence inaccessible to both detainees and their legal representatives.
Mass arrests have been a hallmark of Israel’s occupation policy. Since 1967, over 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israeli forces—a number now estimated to exceed 1 million. This staggering figure means that nearly 40% of Palestinian men and boys have been subjected to imprisonment, impacting almost every Palestinian family under occupation.
These sweeping detentions and raids continue to underscore the systemic control and repression faced by Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation. Human rights organizations have repeatedly called for an end to these practices, highlighting the deep violations of international law and the right to due process.
