A total of 31 people were treated this Saturday for gas inhalation during an Israeli raid in Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem, reported the Red Crescent.

According to the official Palestinian agency Wafa, which cites Palestinian security sources, soldiers fired smoke and sound grenades during the assault, which coincided with the fifth release of prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip under the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that 31 people inhaled gas during the assault on Bethlehem, of which 12 were taken to a hospital, in clashes that it said had ended.
Since the beginning of the exchanges of hostages for prisoners, Israeli forces often raid the homes of the relatives of released prisoners to prevent celebrations after their release from prison.
In addition to Bethlehem, Israeli forces also raided the villages of Kober, Silwad, and Al Mugayir, near Ramallah. In the latter, soldiers stormed the home of a released prisoner, according to Wafa.
According to the Red Crescent, an Israeli military vehicle crashed this Saturday into an ambulance from the organization while transporting a patient from the Al Fara refugee camp, located near Tubas in northern West Bank.
Occupied West Bank is experiencing its highest spiral of violence since the Second Intifada (2000-05), and in the year 2025, at least 70 Palestinians have already died in Israeli attacks, seven of them minors.
So far this year, six Israelis have also been killed in the occupied West Bank: three in an attack on a bus and three other soldiers operating in the territory.
