The primary strike targeted a car manufacturing plant in the industrial city of Hasyaa in the countryside of Homs. One person was confirmed injured by the initial casualty report, while several vehicles loaded with relief materials and aid were destroyed in the attack, said the to Syrian state television.

A separate strike in the town of Maarin, located in Hama province, sparked a large fire, although there were no immediate reports of casualties, it said. An explosion caused by an explosive device was also reported in the city of Daraa, killing one person.

Meanwhile, Syrian Defense Ministry said that Israel launched an airstrike from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting a car assembly plant in the industrial area of Hasyaa in the countryside of Homs, as well as a military site in Hama. The losses were limited to material damage.

Saudi Al-Hadath TV also reported a strike on a facility linked to Iranian-affiliated factions in the Al-Kiswah area near Damascus. The attacks mark a new round of escalations with multiple areas hit in rapid succession.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russia strongly condemned Israel’s attack on a residential building in an affluent Damascus district, in which nine people were killed, including a child.

“We strongly condemn this action. Whatever the target of this attack, it was carried out in a densely built-up area on the territory of a third country, which inevitably leads to innocent victims,” said Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“It is outrageous that such actions have become routine practice against Syria, Iran and the Gaza Strip… Moscow once again strongly calls on the Israeli side to respect the sovereignty of states and the basic norms of international law.”
