A Palestinian was killed and two were injured, including a minor, in at least the ninth fatality from Israeli troops since the ceasefire came into effect in Gaza last Sunday.

Gaza sources confirmed that Israeli troops opened fire in the Gaza Valley, in the centre of the enclave, on people walking along Salah al-Din Street, a road crossing the Gaza Strip from north to south near the border with Israel.

This road will be one of the points that hundreds of thousands of Gazaites will use to return from the twenty-second day of ceasefire to northern Gaza when the army allows it.

Neither on Friday nor this Saturday the Gaza Strip Ministry of Health has published the daily death toll recorded in the enclave, which since the beginning of the truce is composed for the most part of bodies collected from the rubble, but also some Palestinians who have been victims of the fire of troops.

On Thursday, two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli tank fire at the building they were in in the southern city of Rafah.

The day before, a drone opened fire on a group searching through rubble in the Shaboura neighbourhood of Rafah, killing an identified man, 28-year-old Akram Atef Zanoun, and wounding four others. The army claimed that the deceased was an Islamic Jihad militia.

The Gaza Health Service would pick up shortly after the death of one of the wounded, Hassan Issa Abu Sharj.

Different Palestinian channels broadcast a video showing how the Army shot dead a 15-year-old minor, as well as the subsequent burst of gunfire against a man who was trying to retrieve his body.

Since Israel launched its offensive in Gaza 15 months ago, at least 47,283 Palestinians have died and another 111,472 have been injured by gunfire from the Israeli Army.
